As a grand finale to its a hundred Years in Hollywood marketing campaign, Italian fashion house Salvatore Ferragamo is premiering a new brief film undertaking, “the Ferragamo Signature Movie,” starring Ethan Peck, grandson of late Oscar-winning actor Gregory Peck (“To Kill a Mockingbird,” “Moby Dick”), and Elettra Wiedemann, daughter of Isabella Rossellini (“Joy,” “Blue Velvet”), Selection has exclusively learned.

The film — a fiery romance depicting the importance of the Gancio image to the brand — will make its world debut tonight on the Gancio Studios event in New York Metropolis, the place its premiere will probably be accompanied by the launch of a new Signature Collection of eyewear and timepieces that equally have fun the brand’s iconic Florentine image.

Ferragamo first ventured into the brief movie world in 2013 with the debut of “Walking Tales,” a romantic comedy told over eight episodes, directed by Luca Guadagnino (“I Am Love,” with Tilda Swinton) and starring Lauren Hutton. The love story unfolded throughout Los Angeles (the place Ferragamo constructed a starry enterprise), Shanghai (where the brand was increasing) and Florence (the brand’s headquarters). Peck starred in Ferragamo’s subsequent brief movie endeavor, “Coming House to Hollywood,” which debuted in September.

“I think we discovered there’s an incredible chemistry between us,” says Peck, who was honored to re-group with the historic trend home. “The Ferragamo model has maintained a luxurious esthetic all these years, remained very elegant, and these are qualities I’d like to hold by my very own career.” What kind of character does he play? “The film highlights a few Italian archetypes, characters one would possibly see passing by means of the countryside or Milan alike. I play a man who admires beauty, and in doing so, illicits some jealousy from the lady he's with.”

That woman is performed by Wiedemann — who has also collaborated with the model through the years, and wanted to partake in the brand new movie as a result of the best way it was conceptualized and shot. “The quick not solely communicates Ferragamo’s elegance and glamour,” she says, “but also conveys a way of humor and fun, which are the very qualities that make the Ferragamo household and their model so irresistible.”

These younger actors have been chosen for a particular reason. “Ethan and Elettra represent Ferragamo’s legacy in Hollywood and how that heritage has evolved at present, with a playful nod to the Gancio signature, connecting with the digital age,” says Ferragamo artistic director Massimiliano Giornetti, who’d elaborated on the unique founder’s relationship with showbiz on the reopening of the flagship Rodeo Drive retailer in September.
